LAKE STREET
Pattern play, hints of antique pieces, and one-of-a-kind art inspired by Bali were just a few of the highlights from this cozy Lake Street home. This family’s return to San Franciso from Marin called for reinstating their well-cultured, vintage style into their new environment. The homeowners love to travel and truly experience the culture of a destination. A coveted trip to Japan inspired the infusion of Japanese items throughout (primary bedroom lamps are vintage Japanese Kutani lamps and cabinets in the living room are Chinoiserie). Casamance feather-patterned fabric was used for window treatments in the son’s Room and deep green walls made it pop. An expression of the daughter’s love of clementines, her room has a clementine-patterned fabric by Jim Thompson. The living room drapes were banded with Pierre Frey’s black and white patterned palms. The primary bedroom is a mixture of Dedar draperies and House of Hackney wallpaper creating a cheeky edge and moodiness all at once.

A coffee table can be a delightful opportunity for play. Our Mill Valley client’s home in the Redwoods allowed us to experiment with incorporating earthy, neutral tones with pops of modern color. We styled this table with sophisticated accessories and trinkets, complete with greenery to tie the design in with the outdoors. There’s nothing better than mixing and matching various patterns and textures to make a bold yet elegant statement. ✨🪴

For our client at the Four Seasons Residence, we sourced unique pieces from bespoke and vintage showrooms to marry their most cherished vacation destinations with the San Francisco cityscape. We adore this stunning lilac bench and bold art piece, both of which take center stage in this photo. They truly draw the eye and artfully elevate the space. 🎨🪻

One stipulation our Mill Valley client had was no white walls. So, we ensured that every space had a subtle tone or tint to its walls. We love the console table in this image, which evokes a vintage feel, while the striking artwork adds a touch of modernity. The ceramic accents are the cherry on top, bringing these elements together for a serene, warm atmosphere. 🖼️✨

Our Mill Valley project was a creative delight for many reasons, one of which was the opportunity to work with the original architect @oxbstudioarchitects 💥 who drew and built the original house. We updated the structure with modern elements. This included opening up kitchen & passage between the living room and dining room, as seen in this image.
The Saarinen purple bucle chairs are perfect for modernizing the client’s original dining room table & mirror. Entertainment is crucial for this family, so we removed corner built ins and replaced these with a freestanding metal infused cabinet and ambient lighting with table lamps.
Our base is a lavender toned Phillip Jeffries grasscloth wall treatment, adding the neutral yet earthy vibe we wanted to maintain to reflect the environment. 🍽️🌿

Who wouldn’t want to snuggle up in this gorgeous, cozy space? We infused this multifunctional room, an office space that transforms into a guest bedroom, with blues and purples to give that calming feel. We also incorporated a few ceramic pieces to imbue the room with nature-themed textures. Since this family’s remodeled home is located among the Redwoods, we wanted to experiment with those earthy tones.
The soft, natural lighting makes this space feel open and inviting. There’s a tranquility to it. 💜🌲
